MT-KeywordExtractor

Version 0.8 of MT-KeywordExtractor is available for download. This release includes some code cleanup and adjustments for MT 3.3. This plugin should compatable with MT 3.2 but hasn't been officially tested. Please let me know if it works for you.

In this release the Technorati tag block option has been removed, and it also requires the perl module WWW::Yahoo::KeywordExtractor. It is no longer included with the plugin. Please install it via cpan shell or unarchive it into the extlib directory of the MT installation.

Version 0.7 of MT-KeywordExtractor is now available. This is a minor feature release from some feedback from version 0.6.

The plugin has been modified to reflect changes in the core perl module that it uses, WWW::Yahoo::KeywordExtractor.

Plugin installation can sometimes be confusing especially when the plugins grow more and more complex. This is a very guide to installing the plugin MT-KeywordExtractor and getting it started.

This version assumes you have ftp access to your blog. Please also keep in mind that I am a Linux/Mac guy so these instructions will be biased.

Download the lastest version of MT-Keyword extractor. Currently the most recent version is 0.6, so the url to download it is http://blog.socklabs.com/wp-content/KeywordExtractor-0.6.tgz.

Once you have it downloaded unarchive it with your favorite unarchiving program or use the terminal: tar zxvf KeywordExtractor-0.6.tgz.

Next open your favorite FTP client and manuver to your MT installation directory and to the plugins folder. Upload the entire folder that was unarchived to plugins directory.

This plugin does not require any other steps to be taken to get it working. You should be able to see the plugin in the plugin settings page.

Versio 0.6 of MT-KeywordExtractor is ready for the public. This is a minor feature release from some feedback of version 0.5.

The most requested feature is the ability to control how the keywords are used. Now through the plugin configuration you can designate what you want done with the keywords. The options for now are setting the entry keywords or appending a technorati tag block to the text or text_more

Release 0.5 is ready for developer testing. Download it, install it and play around.

This release is mainly for developers and testers. I'm looking for feedback on how you would like to use something like this. Please leave any and all ideas as comments to this release and I'll start making a roadmap based on feedback.

MT-KeywordExtractor is a movable type plugin that will allow you to extract relevant keywords from your entry content. Currently it uses the Yahoo Keyword Extractor API but it may not be limited to this in the future.

In its current state it is very simple. It attaches to the post_save hook to automatically submit your content to the keyword extractor api and takes the contents and fills the entry 'keywords' text with them.

This allows you to easily create tags and such with the suggested keywords it returns.

In its current version there is no configuration required.
